Leagues

A season, not a napkin.

Weekly events bound to a recurring schedule. Substitute rules, partner rotation, flighting, playoffs, cumulative standings — every league concept you'd normally track in a spreadsheet, computed live from the scores as they come in.

Points model

Pick how the season resolves. You pick once at league setup; standings apply it live.

Position points

Finish-place points: N for 1st, N-1 for 2nd, and so on. The default. Rewards consistency across the season.

Best when: When you want every week to count equally.

Stroke aggregate

Cumulative net or gross strokes across the season; lowest total wins. Every stroke matters, every week.

Best when: When your league is one long stroke-play showdown.

Weekly format

Each week's slot picks its own format. Mix and match across the season; standings still add up.

Stroke Play

Standard gross / net stroke play. World-Handicap-friendly (caps blow-up holes at net double bogey).

Scramble

Team format — captain picks the best drive; everyone plays their next shot from there.

Best Ball

2- or 4-person teams playing their own ball; low team score per hole counts.

Stableford

Points per hole — eagle 4, birdie 3, par 2, bogey 1, double+ 0.

Match Play

1-on-1 hole-by-hole; win the hole for +1 to the match, ties halve.

Other / Custom

Alternate shot, greensomes, chapman, whatever the week calls for.

Substitute rules

Real leagues have absences. Bagpipe treats subs as first-class instead of an off-app afterthought.

Regular keeps sub

The absent regular is credited with whatever the sub scores. Standard for most member leagues.

Blind default

The sub keeps their own row; the regular takes a documented default (min points, event worst).

Sub takes it, regular zero

The sub earns whatever they score; the absent regular takes a zero for the week.

The rest of the mechanics

Everything a season commissioner actually reaches for — none of the spreadsheet.

Weekly pairings

Circle-method round-robin, one tap.

Generate the season's pairings once — everyone plays with everyone in a 2-person rotation. Groups of 3+ use a per-slot rotation offset. Commissioner triggers, doesn't auto-fire.

Flighting

Live flights based on standings.

Set a flight count. Equal-size tiers by rank, or set manual cutoffs. Flights recompute on every standings read — never stale, never persisted.

Playoffs

Single-elim brackets: 2, 4, or 8.

Pick the size at season start. Round 0 seeds 1-vs-K, 2-vs-(K-1). Only winner picks persist; the bracket derives.

Season standings

Standings compute live from every scored event.

Aggregates each bound tournament's leaderboard, applies your substitute rule, ranks by points or strokes. No stored leaderboard, no stale data, no reconciliation script.

Coach Dashboard

Team-scope view for school + club leagues.

Owner or coach role sees a roster-first dashboard: team average, season W-L-T, per-player rank, form dots. Live from the same standings compute — no separate data path.

Coaching a school team?
